Day Treatment in Massachusetts

Day Treatment in Waltham, Massachusetts

Day treatment programs provide intensive treatment for behavioral health issues without requiring an overnight stay. They offer more time in treatment than a standard outpatient program. These programs are effective in treating substance use disorders, among many other mental illnesses.

Usually, facilities offer day treatment programs as part of a spectrum of treatment types. Clients in a day treatment program are medically monitored during their time in treatment and participate in a variety of evidence-based therapies. Day treatment programs like the one at On Call Treatment aim to provide comprehensive care for mental disorders (like addiction) while still allowing a person the freedom to live their life outside of treatment.

Knowing What Treatment Program is Right for Me

What's the Difference Between Inpatient, Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient?

Inpatient treatment for behavioral health issues requires an individual to live in a residential facility during treatment. Inpatient programs offer 24-hour care and support. Most of a person’s day is spent in treatment sessions to provide the most comprehensive care.

Day treatment programs and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) both offer in-depth treatment for behavioral health issues and permit patients to live at home during treatment. They differ primarily in the amount of time the patient spends in treatment.

Intensive outpatient programs are not as time-consuming as day treatment programs. They require fewer hours per week in treatment. Because of this, they allow a more variable time frame, making it easier for a person to schedule treatment around work and other obligations.

The time that someone spends in an intensive outpatient program maybe two to four hours per day for three to four days a week. A day treatment program may require four to six hours per day for three to five days per week.

Usually, a medical professional assesses how long someone needs to be in treatment based on several factors, such as the severity of addiction and other mental issues (co-occurring disorders). Day treatment programs may last from several weeks to a few months.

What to Expect from a Partial Day Treatment Program

Admissions at Our Treatment Center in Waltham, Massachusetts

Our day treatment program was developed by a team of licensed therapists, psychologists, and addiction specialists with combined decades of clinical experience. We believe that addiction treatment needs to be highly individualized and thoroughly integrated to be successful long-term. Integrated care takes the physical body, mental health, emotional well-being, and spirituality into careful account. The day treatment program includes daily group therapy sessions, weekly one-on-one therapy, and group sessions geared towards life and coping skills development.

This level of care can last for as little as three months and as long as six months depending on personal needs. Before you complete the program, your case manager will help you develop a long-term aftercare plan for your future in recovery. This might include an extended stay at sober living home and continuation of treatment in our intensive outpatient program.

Our treatment programs are highly individualized and readily available to all those who have been suffering from a substance use disorder of any severity, which includes dependence on drugs and alcohol.
